The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) agreed to work together to prevent land conflicts, Tuesday (06/08).

Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said that this collaboration, which prioritizes conflict prevention, was carried out to resolve land crimes.

“In efforts to prevent, handle and enforce law on land disputes and conflicts. But always better, cheaper is prevention.

So if it can be prevented, why not? But if we can’t be reminded, we won’t hesitate.

“We will act firmly using the same reference, namely the laws and regulations that apply in this country.

That is our commander in chief,” said Minister AHY at the signing of the Cooperation Agreement with the National Police in Kemayoran, Jakarta, Monday (05/08/2024) .

The Cooperation Agreement was signed by the Director General of Land Dispute and Conflict Management.

Iljas Tedjo Prijono with the Head of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Inspector General Pol. Wahyu Widada. The signing was witnessed by Minister AHY and National Police Chief Listyo Prabowo.

This Cooperation Agreement contains various efforts to prevent land conflicts. Some of them are related to the exchange of data utilization.

Increasing capacity and utilization of human resources, as well as utilization of facilities and infrastructure between the Ministry of ATR/BPN and the National Police.

According to the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, prevention efforts must be prioritized so that people do not have to become victims of the land mafia.

“Hopefully the Cooperation Agreement that has been implemented will further strengthen the synergy of collaboration and our enthusiasm to eradicate the land mafia from its roots,” he said.

National Police Chief, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo welcomed the efforts to prevent land conflicts.

“I support the Minister and his staff, if it cannot be prevented, then we will enforce the law. Beat the land mafia to the end! We support it,” he stressed.

So far, the Anti-Land Mafia Task Force Team has succeeded in saving potential losses to the state and society of up to trillions of rupiah.

“Regarding investment, we have always tried to compete with other countries.

One of the main obstacles is the certainty of land issues, so of course this is homework.

“Together, we can provide legal certainty to the people who have always been harmed by the groups which in quotation marks are called the land mafia,” said Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Also present at this activity were Middle High Leadership Officials, Special Staff, Expert Staff, and Primary High Leadership Officials of the Ministry of ATR/BPN.
